The Walk - 2

For those who haven't read the first part. click here.

It was decided that we would be going for a walk. Lot of things were racing in my mind on what to ask. Somehow my confidence was falling apart now. The questions I had thought of seemed to have jumbled in my mind and I was trying to sort them out to make some meaningful questions. At any moment we would be out of the house walking with each other to know each other. Time was running out, I had to do something very quickly to think about how I would go about asking her and my mind refused to sort them for me. Then we were out and the sorting was still going on.

Randomly some question shot up and the next ones followed -
Me-"Hmmm...So what are you doing?" (Thank god! nice start)
Her-"I have finished my BA and am doing computer course currently".
Me-"Ok... So do u have anything in particular to ask me?" (Damn!!, How did this come out. This is too early. Oh no... what do I do now)
Her-"Hmmm.... err... Nothing in particular".
Me-(Phew!! that was close. Get some decent question now) "Ok, good..." (Come on maan, ask something... something... next question....) "Hmmm.. So nice area. Have u been to Bangalore before?" (Good. This question came out without being thought before. Good work.)
Her-"No. I have never been to Bangalore before. How about you? Have u ever gone out of Bangalore?"
Me-(Some time for next question) "No. Never. I have lived whole of my life in Bangalore." (Oh god!!... Why is this next question taking so long...come out maan) "So u interested in sports?" (what the hell is this? Sports? Couldn't u think of anything else?)
She was caught off-guard. She would've never anticipated this question. She took a couple of seconds, stared me and then,
Her-"Sports!!... I watch cricket sometimes and I like to play badminton. What about u?"
Me-"Cricket... only cricket." (Now don’t start explaining the rules of cricket. Change the topic...) "So where are these computer classes? How do u travel?"(Good. decent enough question to make amends)
Her-"The classes starts at 10 and end at 4. I go by bus. Its around an hour of travel from my house"

We had already completed a circle and got back to her uncle's block. We looked at each other and decided probably we had enough of talk and moved towards the house. Thank god the walk finally ended. I decided first thing is to make a list of sensible questions to ask her the next time we meet. Lots of talk was going on in house. Then I took my seat and waited for our exit. During this wait, I had a talk with her granpa about their family tree. Lots of names were taken which I had never heard in my life. Just nodded head to what he was saying. The wait finally ended after half an hour. All the people came to drop us till our car. Everyone exchanged their bye byes. Finally, I had a last look at her with smile on her face before putting my foot on the accelerator...

The Walk - 1

"Hello, yes... tell me". It was 8:30 on Sunday morning (26th August 2007) and I was getting out of my deep sleep when I heard my mom talking on the phone. "Yes, 4-30 is it? ... Ok... We will be there at 3... Bye". I knew immediately that we were going out somewhere on this Sunday too. I did not know where and why. At least I was happy to the fact that there was no program planned for the whole of Sunday morning. Finally I woke up thinking of what I would do till 3.

I overheard the following conversation between my mom and grandma.
Mom-"They arrived today morning and we have to be there by 3. What do we take for them?"
Gramma-"We will take some sweets and fruits that should be fine."
Mom-"I haven't seen them in last 25yrs. I wonder if I will recognize them".

Who are they talking about? What are they upto? Where should v be at 3? What was that 4-30? All these questions were racing in my mind while having my breakfast. Still I had the patience to wait till my mom would break the mystery to me. Finally the moment came when my mom came to me and said "Go shave ur beard. We have to go to my uncle's house after our lunch". I nodded eventough I had no idea who this uncle was. At least now I knew where v r going. Next came the answer to my other question.
Mom-"Be really nice. you will get your time to talk. Think of what u r gonna ask ok".
Me(With a confused expression)-"What? Whom will I ask what? Who are these people?”
Mom-"Oh god, u really dunno? We r going to see a girl for u? They arrived this morning and are at my uncle's place."
Me(Choked cough)-"Eh..What?!!! Girl for me? Hmmm...Then what’s that 4-30 about?".
Mom-"Oh they said, rahu kaalam starts at 4-30, so v have to meet the girl before 4-30. So we have to be there at 3".
Me-"Alrite. fine". (Thinking- What am I gonna ask. Favorite movie?, favorite food? Career choice?. Well forget it, I won’t be able to list it. I will be dynamic out there. Let’s see what happens!) And with a confident smile on my face, I waited for 2 when we were supposed to leave.

At 3- We arrived at their place. Two people welcomed us at the door. I guessed them to be the girl's parents and indeed I was right. They looked at me as if I was a divine soul from heaven. I couldn't give them any expression and gave a nervous smile at them. Finally there were talks all around telling how they had lost contact for last 25yrs, how my mom n family used to play in their backyard etc etc. None of them made any sense to me and my eyes were searching for only one person whom I had come to meet. Finally after lot of chit-chat, the time came when the girl came out from the room holding a tray with snacks and tea towards us. Then my mom talked to her. My gramma talked to her. I couldn't muster the courage to ask her anything, at least not at the time when everyone was around us. I was wondering when would I get time to talk to her in private. It was 4-15 already. I kept waiting for my time and finally when everyone were done with their part of questions, my turn came. I was given a choice to talk to her in their room or maybe have a walk outside in their quarters. I had made my choice instantly "I would prefer WALK" I said thinking about all the things I was gonna ask her. The same confident smile came on my face...

Expressions

For IT people, the first thing which strikes their mind after listening to the word expression is “Regular expressions”. Straight away their mind starts losing track of the present blog and wander around thinking hard about various characters used in regular expressions like *,%,~,^ etc etc. But since you are reading this article now, let me tell u, this blog is not about the regular “Regular expressions” which we come across in daily lives. This blog will consider the most natural gift that every person has in him/her, called the expression.

Knowingly or unknowingly the first thing we notice in everybody is their expression. We always get the hint of what other person is thinking based on his expression (Not true always, but true in most cases). There are so many different kinds of expressions and most of them are same on everyone’s face. What I mean by this is, you can always recognize the default expressions like “angry”,”happy”,”sad” on anyone without mistake. For instance I met some friends from my previous company last week. We were meeting after a year and a half. As soon as we saw each other, we all had a hearty laugh. Without any words spoken, we all understood that we were very happy for meeting.

Another such kind of expression which everyone recognizes is “THE LOOK” (Commonly used term to describe expressions like “Surprise”, “anger”, “Shock” depending on the situation). “Hidden Expressions”, one of the most dangerous kinds of expression is used by most of the people. I can give you couple of instances of such expressions below –

Instance-1- College days, teacher catches you for talking in the class.
Teacher – Hey you... Why are you laughing in my class?
You – (Slowly standing up) Sorry sir. (The expression on your face is kind of guilty, sorry, but then under your breath you would be swearing at your teacher for catching you laugh in his class.)
Teacher – What Sorry? Get out of my class right now.
You – (Bending the head down, and giving a very sorry expression) I wont repeat this again, sir. (But within you, get lost man, attendance already over. Should I go out and relax for a while)
Teacher – Next time I see you laughing, I will send you directly to the principal. Sit down.
You – (With a sigh of relief) Thank you, sir. (The expression on your face is “Thank god, I escaped”, but within yourself; you would still be thinking of that previous joke and laughing silently… ;).

Instance-2- You are on your way to market and there you meet your old college mate whom you hated during the college days and the mate is unaware of this hatred. You would try to escape and hope he would not notice you, but unfortunately for you he calls you name and comes towards you. You have no choice but to wait till he arrives near you.
Mate – Hi maan, seeing you after such a long time. How are you maan?
You – (With a fake smile, clutching teeth, greet him back) Hi maan, I am fine… How are you? (Within you - this bugger looks happy. Must be living nicely with his family. Why god, why? Why did I come to market at this time!!!).
Mate – I am fine too man, heard you got married and all. When was it? You never invited me… huh!!!
You – (You wish!!!) Actually my marriage was arranged so quickly man. I had no time to call all my friends. Besides I did call you on your cell, but it always gave me this number is not valid message. Has your number changed or what. (Oh god, why the hell am I reasoning this guy so much. Who the hell cares if he did not attend my marriage!!!)
Mate – Yeah for sometime I had problem with my connection, but the number is still the same maan. Here is my email ID man (He mutters something which you type in your cell and save it as a message). Anyways, I gottu go now maan, see you sometime later. Do mail me ok?
You – (With a happy expression on face) Sure maan. Definitely. Chalo bye. See you soon. (As soon as the mate leaves in other direction, you turn around and walk as far as possible from him and on the way delete the message you just stored).

In both of the above situations, you could easily hide your actual thinking by giving a false expression to the other person who would not even get a clue of what you are thinking of him. Some people are born with this dangerous talent of “Hidden Expressions”, infact I would say most people are rather “gurus” in this field. After using this talent, the person would enjoy the satisfaction of fooling the other person.

That’s it from me in this blog. Hope to have got some expression on your face after reading this blog. I really hope it wont be one of those dangerous talents when people would say “nice blog”… (Bull!!... Doesn’t even know what he is talking and this fellow write blog itseems… Total crap!!!)

Broken Hearts

Topic sounds like a real boring, sad story is gonna be revealed below, but then, I would like to take this as an interesting topic and try to make it interesting.

So here we go in the search of a real broken heart -

I was wondering that there might be so many people who fall in so called "Love" and after sometime, they come out of it saying their heart is broken. Now what actually this broken heart means to some people is what I am going to find out and come to a conclusion -

First I met this guy (Mr.A), who was looking kind of sad and he was staring at blue sky.
"Hi dude, what’s up? Howz life", I asked him. He was kind of surprised and gave a "Do I know u" kind of look. "Hi, who r u?” he said in return. "I am kind of doing a survey on broken hearts, so is ur heart broken?” He stared me for a couple of minutes and then spoke "Yes, my love left me last month. She got engaged and hasn't invited me for her marriage". "Yeah, man, very sad indeed. I know how it feels!!" I said though I dint know how it feels really. So this guy had a broken heart just coz his love dint invite him for her marriage and this bloke spent his time staring at the blue sky. I dunno what he is thinking. So I moved on to this next person.

"Hello... Hello... I can’t hear u properly... can u call me later?" this second guy (Mr.N) was talking in his cell. I went near him and as usual started with "Hi". This guy took it very nicely and returned with enthusiasm saying "hello". I started off with usual talk abt knowing him and finally asked him "Is ur heart broken?” Suddenly his face went pale, he let out a big sigh and then started "Maan, dont ask me, u dunno how it feels when heart breaks man". I thought, this guy looks cool but is so much depressed and intended to listen to him. He continued - "I dun have any girlfrens, nobody understands me maan. Sometimeback I liked this girl (miss.X) who rejected my proposal. Then I liked this other girl (miss.Y) who dint even try to understand me and left with her BF. Then.... ". He goes on and on and I am wondering if this guy's heart has been broken more than million times and still this guy continues his search for the "true love" which seems non-existent in this whole world. his cell phone rings, "Hello... Heeeeey hi... what’s up?" he goes on.. I thank god for breaking this conversation (one way) and start wondering whom is he talking to so nicely even after so many heart breaks. Finally his conversation ends and I ask him who was it. He says, some nice girl in his office whom he likes very much. That was enough for me.

I went on to meet many people with their own stories of broken hearts and finally realized that some people keep living in past after their heart is broken and some others keep searching for the person whom he believes will not break his heart. There are some more people who spend their time writing such blogs to repair their broken heart
